This is a pencil drawing of Philip Seymour Hoffman. During my time in college, I took exactly one art class. One of the assignments was to create a photorealistic portrait of someone using a photograph. I did this drawing of Philip Seymour Hoffman based on a photograph I found in GQ magazine. Since this was done many years ago, I've lost the original reference. However, I believe it is from page 107 of the January 2001 issue. I do not have information on the original photographer.
I was studying computer science and engineering at the time, but I have loved to draw my entire life. Unfortunately, since it is one of my hobbies, rather than my career, the time I have to spend drawing is fairly limited. Though, in recent years, I've been trying to carve out more time to spend on artwork. Recently, I've been trying to learn digital painting.
Personally, I was made aware of Philip Seymour Hoffman from his numerous roles in various movies. For more information on Philip Seymour Hoffman, see his Wikipedia article.
